Verwachting (meaning ‘Hope’ or ‘Expectation’)

Verwachting was built in Groningen, northern Holland in 1904. She is a Dutch Hasselter Aak. She worked as a commercial barge until the late 1970s when she was partly converted by a Dutch family. We bought her in Holland in 2004 and sailed her back to the UK. She is now a fully equipped family home. Last summer we sailed her up the Thames as far as Henley on Thames.
